Academic English Skills

Academic English Skills aims to enhance your language abilities and academic skills for university success. It focuses on improving your written and spoken language for effective and confident communication in an academic setting.

Consumer Behaviour

This module explores the evolution of the hospitality industry, from hosting guests to providing food, drink, and accommodation with personalised service. It offers insights into consumer behaviours, equipping you with knowledge to create successful marketing initiatives and deliver memorable hospitality services.

Fundamentals of Tourism

The aim of the module is to introduce you to the key aspects of the tourism sector. You will develop a fundamental knowledge and appreciation of other cultures, modern challenges faced by tourism organisations, and an understanding of sustainable tourism and development.

Organisational Behaviour

This module aims to develop your understanding of how best to design the structure and culture of departments in a variety of hospitality organisations to ensure the efficient and effective day to day operation of the unit. You will develop an understanding of the labour markets and the composition of the labour force in the hospitality industry.

Studying and Research in Hospitality and Tourism

The module is aimed at developing your fundamental knowledge of research philosophies and data collection methods, and to give you an opportunity to apply the knowledge to derive a research proposal within your area of study.
